A leader in North American energy infrastructure

TransCanada builds and operates energy infrastructure that North America needs.

With more than 65 years of experience, TC Energy is a leader in the responsible development and reliable operation of North American energy infrastructure.

We own and operate one of North America’s largest natural gas pipeline networks with over 90,300 kilometres (56,100 miles) of pipeline carrying an average volume of 23 Bcf/day or 27 per cent of continental demand.

We have 664 BcF of natural gas storage. We are one of the largest private sector power generators with 16 power plants, with a capacity of 10,100 MW in a diversified portfolio, including wind, hydro, nuclear, coal, solar and natural gas resources.

TC Energy in Ontario

In Ontario, TC Energy operates nearly 8,000 km of natural gas pipeline and 78 compressors stations. We have been transporting clean natural gas to communities throughout Ontario since 1958.

We operate the 683 MW Halton Hills Generating Station — a natural gas fuelled combined cycle facility in Halton Hills, Ont. With our partners, the Ontario Power Generation, we operate the 550 MW Portlands Energy Centre (also a natural gas fuelled combined cycle) in the port lands of Toronto, Ont. As well, TC Energy will be acquiring nine Ontario solar facilities that would produce 86 MW of renewable energy.

TC Energy also owns a significant portion of the Bruce Power nuclear facility in Tiverton, Ontario. Bruce Power consists of two generating stations (Bruce A & B) with each station housing four nuclear reactors. With the recent completion of the extensive refurbishment program on Units 1 and 2 at Bruce Power, the facility’s eight operating units are capable of producing more than 6,200 megawatts of clean and reliable electricity into Ontario’s power grid. TC Energy’s ownership includes 49 per cent of Bruce A and 32 per cent of Bruce B.
